Official:
Premier League champions have signed ex-Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer.
The 35-year-old becomes Antonio Conte’s first major signing of the summer window and joins after his contract expired with Manchester City at the end of June.
Caballero joined City in July 2014 from Malaga, where he first came to wider European attention by helping the club make a surprise run to the Champions League quarterfinals in 2013 under Manuel Pellegrini.
In three years at the Etihad Stadium, he served largely as Joe Hart's backup, but he earned hero status in February 2016 by saving three penalties as City beat Liverpool 3-1 in a shootout at Wembley to win the League Cup.

Caballero may stand a greater chance of adding to that tally under debutant league-winning manager Antonio Conte.
Despite the fact Caballero will also feature as a reserve option at his new club, just as he did for the vast majority of his stay at the Etihad Stadium, one could easily say he's pulled off an impressive late upgrade in his career.
That will undoubtedly motivate him to do even greater things in west London as Chelsea come into a campaign in which they and his previous club are bound to be vying for the same silverware.
| Antonio Conte is said to have identified the Argentine as the perfect No.2 to Thibaut Courtois. |
